The parrot is positioned using two short metal rods/stubs extending from the bird’s feet into the top of the Amethyst geode.

This allows the bird to be separated from the geode, but it is not a mechanism designed for frequent removal and reattachment.

We strongly recommend leaving the parrot in place once positioned.

If it must be removed, extreme care is required.

The two metal rods enter the Amethyst near the top of the geode, and the natural crystal surface can be vulnerable to chipping if the bird is twisted, rocked, pulled at an angle, or handled roughly.

Do not rotate or force the parrot.

Do not pull on the wings, tail, head feather or beak.

The two insertion points should be kept aligned when handling the bird.

For maximum safety, we recommend treating the parrot and geode as one assembled statement piece and not removing the parrot at all unless absolutely necessary.

This is a multi-material sculptural piece, so care should be based on the most delicate component rather than the hardest stone.

• Handle the entire piece with both hands when moving it.
• Support the Amethyst geode from underneath.
• Never lift the complete sculpture by the parrot.
• Never hold the sculpture by the wings, tail, beak or head feather.
• Avoid unnecessary removal of the parrot.
• If removing it, do so extremely gently and keep the two foot rods aligned with their insertion points.
• Never twist, rock or force the bird out of the geode.

• Dust the Amethyst crystals gently using a soft brush.
